Rafael Carmona Dávila
CTO, GreenMomentum Inc.
Rafael has over 20 years experience in the cleantech sector. He has worked as a consultant for international organization such as USAID, The World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and Zennström Philanthropies. Rafael is a founding partner of GreenMomentum Inc. a marketing intelligence and technological innovation firm created in Silicon Valley that specializes in developing cleantech solutions in Latin America.
He is also the co-founder of Clean Challenge Mexico, the largest greentech accelerator in the country, and the co-founder of Impulso Verde 2.0, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating jobs in the greentech industry.
In the 1990s, Rafael helped design and build the first solar racing car in Mexico (Tonatiuh). In 2000, Rafael participated in the Aurora Solar Vehicle Association, based in Melbourne, Australia, one of the most important projects related to solar cars in the world.
In 2013, Rafael founded REConsulting, one of the first Mexican consulting companies in Mexico working on developing wind farms. Rafael was responsible for the development of applications for commercial cars for the Voith Turbo and Telma Retarder in Mexico, the USA, and Central America. Rafael was the secretary of innovation and entrepreneurship of the Solar Energy National Association (ANES).
Today Rafael serves at the CTO of GreenMomentum, and also director of Cleantech Challenge Mexico and Cleantech Labs CDMX.
Rafael took a bachelors in mechanical engineering at UNAM and a masters in engineering at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Melbourne, Australia.
